Nando's Balham

Nando's Balham

Completed October 2015

This refurbishment revives the Nando’s Portuguese influence through its design. It breaks the boundaries and moves away from the conventional shop front with its aged brass and dark stained oak exterior angled into the building, creating an illusionary sense of guidance towards the restaurant. The entrance leads into a servery area made up of timber shingles and lava stone wall finishes.

Its main space is defined by a feature wall made up of bespoke terracotta tiles and aged plaster which illustrates a bygone wall. The restaurant is divided with a large aged brass and black mild steel octagonal screen with seating and condiment areas placed on its either side. It is finished off with two identical intimate party booths, divided by black steel screens highly inspired from the traditional Portuguese steel work.
