Housed in a small site in Epsom consisting of a single long, low ceilinged unit the task was to create an experience that felt more intimate than the space suggested. The original concept was to pull the restaurant apart like a box, framing each end of the restaurant. The middle became the contents spilling out across the restaurant, comprising of different sections that are individually unique yet relate to each other in other aspects such as color and texture. These finishes wrap the entire space from floor to wall and subtly creep up and across the ceiling. The restaurant is linked from front to back by striking end pieces of matching colors and patterns drawing you into the restaurant.
Externally the restaurant has had its old exterior replaced with a new natural Iroko finish with sliding sash windows. The lighting around the restaurant has been carefully considered to provide a warm and enticing glow for those passing by outside.
