Nando’s Lakeside

Nando’s Lakeside

Completed December 2014

The challenge for Nando's Lakeside was taking what was essentially an empty box in a shopping centre and transcending it into something greater. Using its double height space feature to our advantage, we created a monolithic wall at the front of the restaurant to draw your eye towards. On this wall we applied a variety of finishes; timber, concrete, wallpaper and brass, which scaled up the wall and increasing the verticality of it. On the shop floor itself we created a series of three very different but equally desirable seating areas, allowing for a different experience with every visit.

The lighting in the restaurant was carefully chosen to create an inviting atmosphere away from the harsh light of the shopping centre. Bespoke lights highlighted in aged brass at the front of the restaurant creep across the main wall and draw the eye in. The restaurant from the shopping centre looks both fun and lively yet also warm and intimate, key factors in the Nando's brand.
